All lovers of art will have the opportunity to visit the exhibition of interesting paintings and a separate artistic expression, academic painter and poet of Jože Ciuha, 22 May, on Saturday, the gallery Cuker škatuljice Basaričekovoj the street in Koprivnica. Opening of the exhibition is scheduled at 14 pm, and admission is free. From the very rich biography Jože Ciuha, we can conclude that it is a skillful creator who was born in 1924 in Trbovlje. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana. He presented his works at over 400 one-man and 300 group exhibitions. He received several awards, among others the Prešern Fund Award, the Jakopič Award, the French title of the Chevalier of Fine Arts and Literature, the Austrian Honorary Cross of Sciences and Arts and of the Rank. He is a Member of the Russian Academy of Arts. He dedicates himself to painting, graphic arts, mosaic and literature.
Jože Ciuha (b.1924) is a Slovenian-born artist. He has gained international recognition, winning several important international prizes. These prizes include:
- Grand prix at the international graphic biennale at Seoul
- prizes at Biennale in Kraków and Ljubljana
- Chevalier des art et letters, awarded by the French minister of culture
- Golden medal for artistic promotion by the president of Austria
Additionally, Ciuha's works have been displayed around the world. To date, he has had shows presented at:
- Vincent van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam
- Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem
- Museum Morsboich in Leverkusen
- Kunsthalle Nuremberg
- Tate Gallery London
- Walker Hill Art Center- Seoul
- The Harbison Foundation and The Kissick Museum in Columbia, South Carolina
- Institute of Arts – Kalamazoo, Michigan
In 2004, Ciuha was made a Permanent Member of Russian Academy of Art. He currently resides in Paris.
